Run Mountain Lion 10.8.5 in a free Parallel's Desktop Lite Virtual Machine, with iWork '09 installed on it. It's like Microsoft controls that too! HELP PLEASE! I can't get phone support from MS since I don't have 365 - and even if i could, I doubt they'd help me with this anyway. Searches on the internet have done zilch to help. What is up? I hope someone REALLY KNOWS the most current answer(s) here in December 2021 using an M1 Mac with Monterey. pages - I get an error message from WORD (see attachment #2) and THEN, if I click on it again I get a different error message (see attachment #3.) I simply find NO WAY to click on files to open them in Pages. HOWEVER, even though I do that, when I double click on the version that now ends in.
I can then save it as a Pages doc and I also go to the Get-Info window for that doc (see attachment 1) and change from Word to Pages being the default app to open it from now on.
I can also open them in PAGES only if I open the app, choose the Word doc, and then it opens. So that now allows me to edit my Word docs in Word.

I just transitioned to a new MBP (M1 w/Monterey) and at first my WORD files wouldn't even open until I reinstalled MS Word or Mac 2016 (I have 3 computer licenses within the install program so it was not recognizing my new computer as one of those.) OK. However, MS's having moved to the paid online 365, and the fact that it has severely limited support and even USE OF my MS Office 2016 stand-alone app, I've made the decision to do so.

I've also used Word for Mac (well, Office Suite for Mac) for years and never made the transition to PAGES. I'm old and have had nothing but Apple computers since the tiny box that came out first. PLEASE HELP with a nightmare of managing transition from WORD to Pages, IF you're knowledgeable on it THX OK. this is extremely disappointing!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow, what a great way to covertly created a monopoly. now to access my programs in pages, keynote, etc I have to buy another whole mac.

but not being able to use my functioning mac because i was prompt to upgrade is a problem. i can understand the iPods and iPads (which i still have a bunch of those as well) being phased out because all of that is on our phones. I have bought 4 laptops, 5 mac minis, a desktop, a bunch of keyboards, magic mouse of which 4 of those have broke, and a lot of phones. Hopefully, this is an over action on my part and I am just missing something or this has already been addressed and corrected. I used my hard earned money to pay for this product that I can no longer use. I just purchased a brand new mini and I am strongly consider returning it. That is wrong and should be completely against the law. I have a late 2014 mini that I need for my office and now I cannot use it. No pages for macOS High Sierra What is the point of removing pages and the other operating systems. Has anybody a hint to make the Apple Pages 4 to work on Mojave? I would love to come back to Pages leaving Microsoft Word in the app folder. Apps and project for your consumer products are still created on Pro Machines/OSs.
Please Apple, listen to your pro users (not about the dark mode but pro features).
The new Mojave is totally unstable, and some significant bugs from High Sierra have not been fixed. Regarding listening pro users Apple is by now a rubber wall, and the reality is that after 5 years of hope, in spite or their efforts to be a great company, pro users are really let down.

That's the only software that includes the tools I need, of course, the bad copy of the pages/numbers versions. Now with Mojave, that's not possibile anymore because Apple Pages 4.3 doesn't work with the new OS and I've been forced to do something that I've never done in 25 years: I had to buy Microsoft Word for the mac. what did I do? Simply I continued to use the old pages. however this is never happened, in spite of the huge number of complaints. I think many users at first thought that it would have been just a matter of time before those features would be brought back into the apps. I'm writing this post to say that I was not happy at all with the versions of Pages and Numbers (from the 5th on) where hundreds of pro features have been deleted in favor of the possibility to manage the docs directly on the web. Hello, I'm an Apple user since 25 years and a big believer in the Apple ecosystem.
